Graphics Card

Post by Javlin »

Hey gang. Is spending the extra money to buy a 1070ti worth it compared to the regular 1070? I don’t know about the small details to know if it’s worth the extra money. Thanks for you input oh computer savvy individuals.... thanks Jav....

Looking at some of the reviews it looks like the performance increase in most cases isn't that great, not that the price difference between the two is that big anyways. If you want to make the card last longer before needing to upgrade again, I'd go with the 1070 Ti, otherwise if future proofing isn't that important to you (not like it's that much more of a performance increase anyways), then getting the basic 1070 should be fine.

If you wait till next month and buy a RTX 2070 you are then future proofing for at least 3 years and its about $150 more than a 1070...

I don't believe you can overclock a GTX1070. You have to have a GTX1070ti for overclocking.

This is on sale right now. Is this a good deal for the performance? Thanks gang. Javelin.

Javelin,

If you can swing the extra $110

get this instead, better performance and power consumption and you would be good for a while in the graphics card dept...

Thanks Dark. We’ll see what happens now, I had a poweroutage and it fried my hard drive and it won’t repair itself. Time to find a computer repair place after the Thanksgiving holiday. Grrrrr...... fingers crossed it can be saved or maybe not and i’ll Be forced to get a whole new rig.
