Hey gang. I have the following motherboard (https://www.gigabyte.com/us/Motherboard ... -rev-10#ov) and only have 2 4GB of 1866mhz RAM. I was looking to increase my Ram to 16GB but am nervous about buying the wrong type.

I was thinking that this will work, but thought I’d check With you computer smarts people in the group. https://www.amazon.com/Kingston-HyperX- ... 216&sr=8-4

Am I wrong in my thought process? Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Thanks all!
Chris (aka: Javelin)

Here is a link off Gigabytes web page for that board, recommended memory.

https://download.gigabyte.com/FileList/ ... 7-ds3h.pdf

your currently running 1866 mhz, 2 - 4gb sticks
do you know what brand???

While the board does not say 1866 mhz, it will run overclocked so minor issues.
Support for DDR3 2800(OC)/1600/1333/1066 MHz memory modules

upgrading to 2 more 4gb sticks would set you to 16 and keep the cost minimal vs. buying a couple 8gb sticks.

This is the only 2 - 4gb kit in stock at newegg
https://www.newegg.com/corsair-8gb-240- ... klink=true

If it were me, i would get this, 4 identical sticks of 8gb DDR 1600 - gives you 32gb total, more then enough head room for all the porn, i mean programs.

decent price, alot memory for minor price increase.
